Terms
Last updated 18 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Laive Health, who runs Nessa. By signing up you accept them. They're written to be read: if anything is unclear, email laivehealth@gmail.com.
What Nessa is
Nessa is a day board for families: one photo and one short line on a screen at home, so the person you care for knows what's happening next. You keep it true from your phone. It is a free beta: it's new, it's still changing, and we're learning from the families who use it.
What Nessa isn't
- Not a medical device or medical advice. It doesn't diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.
- Not an emergency, alarm or monitoring service. Nobody watches the board or the call log, and nothing raises an alert. In an emergency call 999; for urgent medical help call 111.
- Only as true as the family keeps it. The board shows the plan you set. If plans change and the board isn't updated, or the screen loses its internet connection, it keeps showing the last plan it had. Please don't rely on it as the only way the person knows about something important.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. You may set up a board for someone only with their permission, or the permission of someone who can legally decide for them, such as their attorney under a health and welfare lasting power of attorney. Keep access to your email account safe: it is how you sign in.
Using it fairly
- Add people and photos only with their agreement.
- Don't upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to use.
- Don't try to get into another family's information, get round our security, or overload the service.
- Don't use Nessa for anything other than helping someone with their day.
Your family's content
The photos, names, plans, words and notes you add stay yours. You give Laive Health only the permission it needs to run Nessa for you: to store them, resize photos, show them on your family's phones and board, and send “Say the day” text to OpenAI as the privacy notice explains. That permission ends when the content is deleted. How we handle personal information is set out in the privacy notice.
The beta
Nessa is free during the beta. If we ever plan to charge, we'll tell you first and you can choose whether to carry on. Features may change, be added or be taken away. We work to keep Nessa running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and we may pause or end the beta. If we end it, we'll give you notice where we can.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Nessa with reasonable care and skill. Because it's a free beta that depends on the family keeping it up to date, we aren't responsible for loss caused by a plan that wasn't updated, by the board being offline, or by events outside our reasonable control, and we aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop using Nessa at any time. To have your family's account and information deleted, email laivehealth@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other families or the service at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law stops us. When an account is closed, we delete its information as the privacy notice describes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Nessa changes. We'll change the date at the top and tell you by email about anything important before it applies. If you don't agree, you can stop using Nessa and ask us to delete your information.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
